The Ramona school office and administrative team are temporarily located at Cesar Chavez School on the Juanita side of campus.
Bus Transportation
Colonia Gym is the pick-up and drop-off location for students riding buses to Lemonwood, Driffill, and Rose Ave. Staff supervise students and help them board the correct bus. Students are issued a colored lanyard for their receiving school, distributed at Packet Pick-Up.
Arrive at Colonia Gym at least 5 minutes before the morning departure time.
TK and Kindergarten students must be met by an adult age 18 or older at drop-off.
For Kindergarten, Route 05 will only drop off at Colonia Gym.

Student Programs and Services
The District is working to continue student programs with as little disruption as possible. Status information is posted here as it is confirmed.
Transportation
Bus routes run from Colonia Gym. See Bus Transportation above for schedules and lanyard colors.
Before- and After-School Programs
Accepted students participate at Chavez School. Staff walk students from Colonia Gym to Chavez for enrichment classes. Sign-out begins at 5:45 PM; parent pick-up is at Chavez Cafeteria. After-School Program: 805-393-6400.

Biliteracy Program
The biliteracy program continues. Keeping it running was one of the reasons these school placements were chosen.

What Is Happening
- Ramona Elementary will not open for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
- Students and staff will be temporarily relocated to other schools.
- This decision was made after reviewing the results of a preliminary facilities investigation.
- Based on the information we have at this time, addressing these concerns will require a comprehensive assessment, additional expertise, and the development of a detailed plan to guide next steps.

The District’s Decision
- District leadership reviewed the findings with architects, engineers, facilities, and risk management experts.
- Based on these findings, the District determined that relocating students and staff is the best course of action while long-term solutions are developed.
Looking Ahead
- The District does not yet know how long the relocation will last.
- Experts are evaluating repair options and timelines.
- Families and staff will continue to receive updates as decisions are made.
